Board of Directors
John Antram, President

John has been involved with the hall in many ways since 2003. He is a member of Vermont Swings and was asked early on in his membership to run for office. He is active in the executive, technical, scheduling and building committees, along with managing the alarm system and actively recruiting members. His dedication to the club is remarkable, with many hours spent in all of the nooks and crannies of the building, hours researching solutions and answering questions for members and prospective renters of the hall. One of the constants of the club, he has set a welcoming tone and promoted new ideas and uses of the space to enrich the communities that share our space.
Michael Boucher, Vice President

Michael Boucher first became aware of what was then known as the Champlain Club in the early 2000s, when he started going there for Swing Dancing. He became a member in 2005 and held positions as Trustee and Vice-President. As a Trustee he was involved in the process of renaming the Champlain Club to the North Star Community Hall and its transition from a private social club to a non-profit community organization. Michael values the Hall for its inclusiveness, warmth, service to the Old North End community and its commitment to being relevant to the present while looking to the future and remembering its past and social significance as a social club. Michael lives in Milton with his partner Heather and their 3 dogs.
Charlene Wallace, Secretary

Charlene Wallace loves old buildings, project management, and swing dancing at the Hall. She is Chair of the Restoration and Fundraising Committees, a member of the Building and Rental & Events Committees, and our Board Secretary.
Janice Dawley, Treasurer

Janice is an IT professional with money management skills who has a combined 22 years of experience volunteering for local nonprofits (10 of those years serving on boards). A self-labeled geek, she first became familiar with the hall through the board game group that met for several years in the ‘10s. In her day job, she works in the IT department of VEIC, a Vermont-based energy efficiency company.
Christina Erickson, Director

Christina is a neighbor of the Hall where she attends dance class with Jeh Kulu. Her day job is serving as the Executive Director of Local Motion, Vermont’s statewide bicycle and pedestrian advocacy organization.
Lola Houston, Director

Lola is a musical persona with a bit of carpentry, plumbing and electrical skill tossed in for good measure (ya never know when you need to rewire your guitar!). Lola’s attachment to the hall is through swing dancing and the joy therein, and she likes to repair old things and build new ones.
